Happy New Year to all my babes!

So, another year over eh?
And what a year it's been!

It started off a little shaky for me, with a lot of change and a lot of uncertainty and a helluva lot of insecurity but a year is a long time and a plenty can happen in just a mere 12 months, so as far as I am concerned it has ended a lot better than I expected, particularly so when compared to the previous 12 months.

Yes, I have achieved much and yet not achieved enough - so 2010 will mean I must work smarter to reach the goals I set, but don't be mistaken, these are not new year resolutions, nay nay nay! New year resolutions are made to be broken and not kept, goals are made to be achieved and I aim to achieve as many as I can in my short life.

2009 was a good one.
Maha, Press Club, Tutte Bene, Vue de Monde, L'Etoile, Boathouse, MoVida Aqui, Cafe Vue, Hutong, Mecca Bah, too many wineries, Tassie (x2), Sydney, seafood aplenty, too many cheeses, happy hour at 434, not enough breakfasts (but then again, I'm not much of a morning person) and stalking too many exceptional chefs ;P

I learned how to parallel park (again), I can sort of reverse park, I hesitate a little bit less now if I have to drive anywhere.... I made it to the gym more often than I expected, I even go for a run every now and then, I successfully completed a 'non-boot camp' boot camp without dying, I made a lot of new friends and re-made some old ones, and I miss a few friends... you know who you are, but particularly Rose, Fad, and.... MM.

I finally spent those blasted gift vouchers that I keep getting, at last count I had some $500-odd worth of gift cards. Nothing shows better how much you don't care. Surely I can't be that difficult to buy for? I'm pretty easily satisfied, really I am! I'm happy if you get my a block of cheese.

And whaddaya know, the minute I use the ones I have, I get another stupid freakin' gift card *sigh* I hate them bloody things. I'm going on record to say that it is your money down the drain if I get another gift card, it takes me too much time to spend it and just not worth my effort. You'd be better off giving me cash so I can pay some bills with it.

Anyhoos, tis not a time to whinge, I have an entire 2010 to do so :)

I have a sexy raunchy burlesque-themed party to go to for NYE2009, so keeping it short cos I gots ta go pretty myself up a bit. Don't let the heat get to you and party responsibly everybody (that means you, Frankston boys :P )

If I don't see you tonight, I will see you in the new year. Love youse all, happy 2010!

Can't treat me that way - Kate Earl

You’re not the guy I met
and if you are,
only get one chance to prove it
baby make it count

Maybe she let you do that
maybe some other fool had
too many problems
to respect herself

You’ve got a woman who knows her worth
and ain’t prepared to compromise it
you better listen you better make it better
but don’t make me say...

You’ve got a woman who knows her worth
and ain’t prepared to compromise it
you better listen you better make it better
but don’t make me say
you can’t treat me that way

I hope it’s my mistake
simple misunderstanding
trivial bullshit we blew into space
a common lovers rift
uncommon words thrown like fists
cause if you meant it
baby it’s too late

You’ve got a woman who knows her worth
and ain’t prepared to compromise it
you better listen you better make it better
but don’t make me say...

You’ve got a woman who knows her worth
and ain’t prepared to compromise it
you better listen you better make it better
but don’t make me say
you can’t treat me that way

you better make it better
you better make it feel right
you better make it feel the way it ought to feel
you better make it better
you better make it feel good
you better do it cause you know that you should

You’ve got a woman who knows her worth
and ain’t prepared to compromise it
you better listen you better make it better
but don’t make me say...

Karaoke Queen

Mr Mickey is a dangerous man.
He sits down at the table for 2 seconds and on the table magically appears 10 various lethal alcoholic concoctions... sweet ones, fruity ones, chocolatey ones and ones with funny names (headless chook? Anyone want Tony's nuts?), he certainly gets credit for generosity but one must be wary of his motives for that was just the beginning of the night...

After a loud and rowdy dinner, we all head off to PartyWorld for some awful renditions of some terrible songs, and the more terrible the song, the better the night it was.

We began with a$300 bar tab and immediately, there was an order for at least $100 worth of various cocktail shakers.... mmmm... yummmmmy cocktails.....
A blur of ABBA, Beatles, some Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys and a few numbers from Beyonce and Lady Gaga - and what karaoke session will it be without a shout out to Aqua's Barbie Girl? hoo ha yeah!

We all played our parts pretty well:
Mr Mickey - the drink master - the one encouraging all to drink and continually plying us with the dreaded 'pace jar'

Mr Just-Married - on his first night out without the Missus - playing the loud, rowdy, attention-hogging dance queen, keeping us all entertained with his snappy dance moves, MJ moonwalk, Elvis impersonations and Beyonce renditions.

Miss Smiley - the baby of the group but no shrinking violent, she's so adorable, like my kid sister at work.

Miss Mic Whore (no, that was not me!) - was perhaps the only person there who had any sort of decent singing voice while the rest of us merely shouted and yelled at the microphone (hehe, yelling out a song probably wouldn't help heal my niggling cough)

Madam Mum - tired and exhausted from work and being mum to a toddler, she had a leave pass to paint the town with us unmarrieds (oh, except for Mr J-M, he's still counted as 'unmarried' for now), leaving hubby at home to look after bubs for one night. I think it's great stress-relief for her when pelting out a song or two.

Mr Viking - oh how I will miss him, my dear Mr Viking, when he leaves us next year to work in Dandenong - boo! I say boo to those who are sending him away! We should keep Mr Viking and send Mr Misogynist to Dandenong. Boo! Boo! Boo! Boo!

Before long, even I was hogging the mic and I managed to do a solo number - probably because nobody else there knew the song (Thank you very much Dixie Chicks!)

After one too many sugar-filled beverages, occassionally mixed with a peroni here and now, I decided to make my escape early (somewhat early I think... I think the bar tab finished in less than 2 hours and we went a bit over... and then some :P)

Stupid thing is, when you find yourself filled with too much sugar and not enough booze you wound up lying in bed with eyes wide open tossing and turning trying desperately to get tired and fall into slumber. After an hour of this I became really agitated and found myself leaping out of bed and tidying up my room. Now there's a side-effect I hadn't expected! Perhaps it's something I need to bear in mind next time I go out, must drink more sugary things!

I still gots it!

Another day and another day on the phone with dumbasses, except this one wasn't as terrible as GK (who is the absolute Lord of Dumbasses!) but then again, GK will forever be the benchmark for dumbasses now and he is pretty difficult to top.

My last call for the day, and let's call this dude.... mmm... Raffy, well Raffy was really annoyed, and he was annoyed at everybody and everything and normally, I shut my mind to these annoyed people because I have to consciously shut out negativity from my life otherwise it really does my head in but that's a different story, so anyay, Raffy was different, Raffy was annoyed at everything but he was not annoyed at me, and he wasn't exactly negative either. He made it very clear that he just wanted to vent, and vent to me he did and listen to him I did, and by the end of the conversation he called me 'Sweety.'

And then he thanked me for listening, and then he thanked me for helping him and he thanked me for being so patient with him and he told me I have a wonderfully soothing voice. Ahhhh, this girl loves to be appreciated :)

Raffy pushed the right buttons.
I like Raffy.

Comment

I forgot to comment on what a strange and exciting week it has been!

Parties, tears, celebrations, stress and excitement all rolled into 7 days.

I met the Premier at a work function, and got to mingle amongst industry head honchos, somehow there's even a photo of me looking all professional and important with my little MaeBerry in hand ;P

In the same week, I also sign contracts that will sink me into massive debt for years to come, and then immediately regretted it. And after the immediate regret, the problems are resolved and then there's a small burden lifted and I can see a little light at the end of the end of a very very long tunnel.

And for the first time in months, I am allowed to sleep in for as long as I want to, and get up and whatever time I want to because there is nothing for me to do on the weekend! What a wonderful feeling to be able to sleep in. Absolute bliss.

It hadn't occurred me to how tired I have become in the last few months. A good tired, not the exhaustive tiredness of the past. Bliss. Just pure bliss.

Happy for no reason

I still have this irritating cough, and work is keeping me insanely busy and I have to induct a new girl next week, meaning I will no longer be the only girl in a domain of boys..... *sigh* I kind of enjoyed that attention, oh well, things cannot always go how you want it. The key thing is, I feel great, I feel healthy, I feel fit, I feel happy.

I am happy for no reason and that suits me just fine!

Just the other day, I bumped into, Mr T. who I used to work with, and considering we hadn't seen eachother for about 2 years, we had much to catch up on. Amongst other things, he made a comment about how different I looked, not so much in terms of the physical because my hair, weight, clothes, well to be honest not much of that has really changed in 2 years. What he had noticed was how healthy and how happy I appeared.

"Must be a new boyfriend" says he.... ;)

Wow! - well that just plain blew me away - not only because it feels terrific when someone pays you a compliment, and you know me, I lap up compliments like chocolate! No, not just because of that.

It was the fact that someone had noticed how good I felt and it wasn't just me feeling it or imagining it. I was thrilled that what I am feeling inside now has shone through and shone outwards, and someone had noticed me beaming. That this awesome mental state I am currently in actually makes a difference to my physical state as well.

Two years ago, the last time Mr T. saw me, I was in a bad place. One year ago was an awful place for me, I don't want to imagine how terrible I must've looked physically because emotionally and mentally, it was just a bad time. To think how that would have transferred to my every day state is horrifying. *urgh*

So yeah, the last time Mr T. saw me, I was a different person, she was unhealthy and unhappy but she, that ugly person, is gone.

She is happy. For no reason. ;)

S-L-O-W-P-O-K-E

Remember, once upon a time you were so terrible, so uncoordinated, so unfit, so slow that nobody in school ever picked you to be on their team when playing cops and robbers or to be on their team when doing sports?

No?
Well, it must be just me then.

The thing is... I am just not built for exercise. I am not built for physical activity.
I am weak, I am uncoordinated, I am short, I am slow, I have a very tiny speck of a competitive streak (it does exist, but only just) -AND- I don't like to sweat.

So back in the day, I was always last to be chosen for any type of running game, I was always one of the last to arrive back in line when the teachers made the children run around the school as part of our daily exercise. I was always the first to be tagged when playing chasey in the school yard. I was slow - fully-stop.

For a number of years now, I do enjoy some irregular jogging around the neighbourhood whenever I feel the fatties succumbing my mind, and I enjoy jogging - on my own.

But now that I have to run with other people, and other people can run faster, and further and longer than I can, I find that I don't enjoy running so much anymore.
I find that I don't like being last, I don't like being bottom of the ladder. I don't like not being able to do something that I know I can and should do well.

My mind says I can do it, but my body tells a different story.
Why are they not in sync?
Why?

Mystery bruises or sympathy bruising?

Well - as promised a number of weeks ago - here is one of them weird mystery bruises I seem to be getting on my legs and I just don't know where they're coming from!

This particular one happened a few weeks ago, looks impressive doesn't it? :)

Except, it wasn't nearly as impressive as the massive one my sister copped from paintballing.... the weird thing is I found my bruise after the Sis received hers, so she reckons it must be a sympathy bruise. Yeah, but no. I don't like being sympathic this way.

I should probably begin documenting these weird bruises on my leg.

Madam Boots is a slack arse

HEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO there!

Holy crap it's been awhile.... the problem is not that I have little to blog about, the problem is that I have little time to blog. I'm not really sure where the time goes these days. I have banked up so much in my teensy little brain ready to write about however, it just seems all so difficult now. There is too much!

I did say I was gonna tell you about the mystery bruises I keep finding on my legs, and not those silly little inconspicuous ones, I'm talking a decent size, you know, paint ball sized bruises. I could show you a pic... but it's so much hassle and I cannot be bothered at this time of night.

I should tell you about the time I went to Sydney and met Manu and ate at Adriano Zumbo's and in due fashion, lost my voice for a week and thus could not fully brag about my exploits.

I could tell you about the fitness course I have joined which hopefully will prep me for a bikini-perfect body for Summer :D But at the moment, all it is doing is killing me slowly......

I could tell you all the funny things I have learned from people in my every day exploits.... but, alas - when so much has happened, I find my interest in blogging has wained.

I will try and try and try my best to update this more often. Weekly perhaps? but I dunno if I can keep that promise.... but I will try and try and try!

Weekly!

Mr Asshole-man

The night is late and I is sleepy now.

I have to make this quick and fast.... I know I've explained it to most of you anyways, but I think some.... well, just takes more than once :p

It wasn't my fault to begin with, I was a victim too.

Here's the story, about 4 weeks ago my hotmail account got hijacked and the asshole who hijacked it sent an email to everybody in my address book and, judging by the number of bounce back emails I received, Asshole-man (and yes, I know it was a male cos no girl would do such stupid useless things) also sent emails to people I have sent emails to in the past.

I also know this happened because I send emails to myself at work all the time (because people don't love me enough ;) and my work email is definitely not in my address book.

You can imagine my surprise when late one night I get an email on MaeBerry from.... MYSELF! I know I'm good, but to send an email to myself without myself knowing, that's pretty incredible.

I read the email too and figured it was so generic, surely people aren't dumb enough to think it was from me.... it wasn't a joke, it wasn't funny, it wasn't inspiring, it wasn't enlightening, it wasn't named, and it didn't have my name on it! How can my friends think it was from me?

So, I'm sorry if you thought it was from me and I really hope your computer didn't catch a nasty virus.

Not as sorry as me though, Mr Asshole-man took the liberty to delete some of my beloved emails too, Jerk. As if hijacking my email and tricking my friends was not enough, he also had to take away my memories.

I hope whoever he is, he can go choke on a piece of debris from the information highway.

There, you see now. Not my fault at all. Please, it's time to get over this.

Night!

Next post, all about my mystery bruise

News Update

Woah, what a mess.
I just re-read what I wrote in my last few posts and I do apologise for the disgustingly horrid non-sensical-ness of my shoddy writing abilities (or abilities lack there of, as apparently obvious)

There was just so much to cover and I had wanted to put everything, absolutely EVERYTHING down so that I would never ever ever forget them but what came out just seemed to be word-vomit.

Sorry.

Doesn't help that I, once again, have tonnes to cover and not a lot of time or patience to note it down in any particular sensical way... so here goes some random thoughts and updates on what has been the goings-on in this little corner of sunshine...

~ 3 September, I wrote something about having a weird dream... yes I know I know, I am not one normally averse to weird dreams. In fact, I quite often have weird dreams and am very happy to share these with whomever is willing to listen (willing listeners = my dear wonderful co-workers, who must be bored silly by now). But this one stood out from the rest. This weird dream did not feature Mark Wahlberg as my beloved. No. This weird dream was full of zombies and vampires. It was action-packed and full of adventure!

It was like a movie, and I, the star!

In this movie, I was one of the few remaining humans alive on earth and I was running for dear life away from the zombies who were trying to suck my brains out. I was in a race and I was fast.

Somehow, during all this running and escaping, I befriended a vampire.... don't really remember what happens after that, I just remembered lots of running, lots of zombies, a vampire and then feeling extremely exhausted the next day at work because I felt like I had been up running all night (funny about that....)

So anyways, weird dream, I figured it must've meant something so of coure, did the ol' 'google it' thingy and turns out this is what it all represents:

Zombie
To see or dream that you are a zombie, suggests that you are physically and/or emotionally detached from people and situations that are currently surrounding you. You are feeling out of touch. Alternatively, it may indicate that you are feeling dead inside and are simply going through the motions of daily living

To dream that you are attacked by zombies, indicates that you are feeling overwhelmed by forces beyond your control. You are under tremendous stress in your waking life.

Vampire
To see a vampire in your dream, symbolizes seduction and sensuality, as well as fear and death. The vampire represents contrasting images of civilized nobility and aggression/ferocity. It may depict someone in your waking life whose charm may ultimately prove harmful. Deep down inside you know that this person is bad for you, yet you are still drawn to it. Vampires also sometimes relate to decisions about sex and losing your virginity. Alternatively, to see a vampire suggests that you are feeling physically or emotionally drained.

There ya go.
Stressed. Physically/ emotionally detached. Dead inside. Forces beyond my control.
Someone bad for me??? Why didn't someone tell me earlier that vampires were bad for me!

Jokes aside though, the interpretation of that dream really quite surprised me because this time last year I would have agreed completely, it would've been a yes, yep, ahuh, agree, yup and YES! to all of the above. (2008: My year of the Tortuous). If I had had that dream last year, my reaction would have been more like "gees, tell me something I don't know, Genius..."

But today, I am feeling awesome. Things can always be better of course (I could be making more money, I could be not working, I could be travelling....) but at least I now feel like I have a handle on things. My world is not the mess that it once was. I'm not struggling through each day just counting hours and waiting for the seconds to pass wondering why I have to wake up each morning. I'm not always wondering. I don't feel useless and out of control anymore. I don't feel like a piece of dead weight being dragged around.

I feel good. I feel good about myself, I feel good about job, I feel good in general.
I can feel better but... I'm a work in progress.

So yes, learning the possible meaning of that weird zombie-riddled action adventure of a dream did take me quite by surprise because today I can confidently say, no, no, no, not really and don't think so to all of the above.

The only explanation I have for having such an odd dream is there is no explanation. It was dream.

Just a dream and nothing more. There is no special meaning to be read into it. It was a fun, weird yet exhausting dream.

Moving on, mmmm.... Tassie. Ahhhh, Launceston, beautiful Lonnie. Beautiful, stunning, relaxing and delectable. Love Lonnie. Cheese, wine, cheese, wine, wine and food in a gorgeous mansion. Roman Baths, my those Roman Baths. I could live there just for those Roman Baths..... cheese, wine, great food, big mansion, spa retreat - nothing more is needed in life.

And, the Melbourne Show - I had true intentions to go to the Show this year. I haven't been for at least 15-16 years now. Too long, and I really really really really wanted to go this year :(
Stoopid Mother Nature. Bitch. Now I gotsta wait until Sept 2010 :(

I also had planned a little trip upto Sydney earlier this year, but that never happened. I was bitterly disappointed, because I miss my buddies up north, and I really wanted to spend my birthday out of Melbourne again (trying to start some kind of trend but it ain't happening...)

Anyways, Sydney got postponed to November, so part of the Spring Carnival will be spent in the Big S and I'm thrilled to bits! I have finally found some time to hike up there for a relaxing and much deserved break. Counting down the days as we speak, my dear lovelies in Syd-en-y, please prepare for my imminent arrival as I plan on some non-stop food-action and I'm taking you all with me! Too many places I want to visit, not enough hours in a day. (No Tetsuya's though, poop. Just a tad slightly out of my price range.... this time round)

Other goings-on, a dear friend gave me a book on cupcakes. Noice. I love to cook, but I hate to bake. Baking is for mums and grannies. It was never my thing. I'm the kind of girl that does the eating dessert thing very well, but ain't so good with the making dessert thing.....So, I've been trying my dab hand at making cupcakes. Not as easy as it looks. I'm still perfecting my skills and techniques...... nobody has died yet (good sign) and definitely no tasters have spat any back out (a great sign!)

We always get lots of giggles when we make a batch of cupcakes. Who knew baking could be so much fun?

Work is going well, my boss is a cool dude, we have fun in our department. How can you not have fun with a bundle of joy like myself around the place? It's a very eye-opening experience this job, I have come across a whole new species of stupid-heads. So stupid in fact that for a number of weeks, the following was a recurring conversation between boss man and myself:

Boss man: Shit, how stupid can people get?
Me: Don't underestimate stupidity because you just can't fix stupid.

Repeat that about a billion times. My head was constantly banging on the table out of sheer frustration of people's stupidity-ness. Fortunately, due to my super organizational skills and incredible intellect (plus/ minus a few amazing colleagues), many of the issues have been resolved and no longer occur.... and hopefully never will occur again. I am awesome. What will they do without me? :P
I love my job.

oh, final news - my little brother is ENGAGED!

And I am....

Not.
(*phew*)

(And now quickly and subtlely change topics...)

Ummm, did I mention that I was taken to Vue de Monde for my birthday this year?
No?
Well, let me tell you, it was the highlight of my year so far!
I will go as far as saying it could be the best meal ever. Ever.

I won't bore you, dear lovelies, with the details yet again, but when you see me, please humour me when I show you yet again, the photos of my awesome birthday meal at VdM. I am in deeply in love with the place.

à bientôt

Blogger-diarrhea

While I'm on a roll, I thought I may as well keep going.
Lordy knows when I feel like logging on again.....

I think you may all be well aware that I have been on a continuous loop of gloating over the last few days.

Yes. A happy girl is difficult to shut up.
Especially a happily well-fed girl :)

Press Club - oh. my. goodness. Awesome! If only Georgie was there. That would have made my evening absolutely perfect. My one birthday wish this year was to rub his little round bald head... oh well, at least I had not one but two tables sing Happy Birthday to me :D

Mecca Bah - cheap and tasty with great company.

Crashing the Costco pre-opening staff party. hehehe, no further details need to be repeated.

Bringing a cake to work and have everybody lick every delicious morsel of it, even those on strict diets broke the rules to enjoy some evil chocolate delight.

Highlight of the week:

Vue de Monde

OH - MY - GOD! I finally know what they mean by 'food orgasm'
I don't know how to describe the genius of Shannon Bennett, if only I was better with words. Just..... divine. I thought about never letting anything else touch my lips again because I wanted to savour and remember every perfect bite of food as it was, but alas, I got hungry and had to forgo that improbable decision.

The service was perfect. Particular mention to Marvin. Oh Marvellous Marvin from Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago. Your accent was sexy! You made a magnificent night a never to be forgotten memory. I hope you enjoy Melbourne.

The venue, very comfortable.

The company - exceptional!

The wine - stunning.

I thought Rockpool was brilliant, but Vue de Monde just blew my mind.

What a brilliant way to end a brilliant fantastic week.
Vue de Monde, you have not seen the last of this girl, I am coming back for more, no hesitations! If only I had another spare grand or two.

I have heard news that there will be a Cafe Vue opening very shortly close to my work. I am jumping out of my skin with excitement, if it's anywhere near as divine as it's big sister I can see myself there on a daily basis and most probably changing shape....

I wouldn't mind changing shape if I was shaped as Vue de Monde.
*sigh*

Confessions of a Boring Blogger

I have an awful lot to tell and catch up on.
Just... stuff... bits and pieces... of things.... don't really know where to begin to be quite honest.

I read an article recently about the current trend of personal blogs, you know the type. Those boring bloggers who just want to tell the world everything that happens in their life, no matter how mundane... well, I read that article and my mind screamed "oh good Lord, that is me to a tee!"

I really really do want to tell the world about my extraordinarily mundane life, does that really scream attention-seeker?? I guess it's because I'm not one that people immediately see as your usual, garden-variety 'attention-seeking' type.

Truth is, I am.
I confess.
Attention-seeker? Aye!

There, now that that's all cleared up, moving on......

I have been spending an awful lot of time with a funny bunch of peeps. How terrible would it have been if I had to spend another minute with a bunch of wankers.

Sorry, been there, done that - wasted too much time on them.
Apparently life is precious and I should not waste them on wankers and time-wasters.

So no more losers.

I have had a lovely week, and it was made wonderful by many many people who I want to briefly thank because I am in that kind of weird, girly, eye-rollingly sick and sweet thankful mood. Just because.

Kudos to Nerdy Control-freak, Santa's Little Helper, who despite his anal-retentive tendencies, always has something witty and funny to say, always making me laugh.
Mr I-can-fix-anything-and-everything, because you really are a nice guy who can really fix anything and everything. You are one of a kind that's for sure, the free rides home after work is a just a bonus :)
Grumpy Santa; who doesn't love a grumpy Santa? I love watching Grumpy Santa throw cute little tantrums when things don't go the way he wants...
Big Cheeky JB, and Skinny Mo' who both tell me dirty jokes, often subtle and sly ones, and occasionally ones in other languages. Thanks. A girl can never know too many dirty jokes, especially ones in a different language.
The chicky-babes: you girls are the bestest. You keep me sane, and make me laugh when I don't feel like laughing. You somehow know that just by being there is enough because sometimes, I just can't do it on my own.

Josh - I will never be sick of your words. You somehow manage to take the very words right out of my mouth. It still amazes me how you do that.... dear dear Josh, you have my greatest admiration.

I was told the other day that I am a very lucky girl because I have a lot of things done for me. That lots of people in my life seem to want to do things to make sure I'm well taken care of.

No doubt about it. I am definitely spoilt and well looked-after. And for that I am grateful every day.

I bear a charmed life

I love this time of year.
I love how the weather is starting to warm up.
I love how it's still light by the time I get home.
I love being the centre of attention.
I love being spoilt.
I love receiving presents.
I love receiving compliments.
I love that everyone remembered.
I love that people care enough to make me happy.
I love sharing it with people who care.
I love that it is MY day, everything is about me, all to myself.

It may rain the day before,
and it may rain the day afterwards, but

I love that it never rains on my birthday! :)

Intelligent Advertising

After weirdest.dream.ever! (and yes, it must be written like that with full-stops separating each word) I figured sleeping may or may not be the best thing for me, but that's another story for another post, so I was up late-ish one night trying to fall asleep and happened across this ad....

Memorable, smart, and appeals to the right emotive reactions within me.

I like.

(btw, I hear Ricardo Lopez Murphy didn't win the election that year, but the ad did win many advertising awards and that counts as a win in my book :)

Marky Mark

Weirdest. Dream. Ever.

Out of the blue, I had this rather pedestrian dream about my boyfriend and he happened to be non-other than the not-too-bad-looking, somewhat handsome Mark Wahlberg.

Don't ask me, I also have no idea where that sprang from... haven't been watching any of his movies, haven't heard any recent news about him or of him, definitely haven't been listening to his music and never have been a big fan of his... (btw, does anyone know what ever did happen to my new illusionary beau??? Is Mr Marky Mark still... "acting"? Does he even go by the name of "Marky Mark" these days??)

But yeah, a very healthy mystery as to why he suddenly became my beloved during my beauty slumber.

Not that I'm complaining, there are worse people to dream about, I certainly don't mind a little of those Marky Mark abs now and then in my dreams ;)

Perhaps it's a sign?? But a sign for what? A world famous celebrity is going to drop into my world?? For me to look out for a Mark Wahlberg look-alike? For a handsome, sexy ex-underwear model to turn up on my doorstep? A former minor criminal with dubious music and acting talent? Some dude called Mark?? What could it be???

Perhaps I need to sleep more?

No.

There is no rest for the wicked, we gotsta keep on keeping on ;D

I reiterate.

Weirdest. Dream. Ever.

Postcard memories

I received a postcard
From someone I adore
I got this postcard that I have been looking forward to
and it is dated 22 June...

**sigh**

Why? Why? Why? Why? Why??????????????

I just don't know what to do! I tried to forget it, 22nd June, I tried to move on but it just keeps coming back to me. 22nd June, I keep getting brought back there. 22nd June, I can't get rid of it. Why?!!??!?

22nd June **choke choke cough cough**

If this is some sort of joke Mr/ Ms Higher Being, ha-di-har-har, I've finished laughing now. I get it. You got me. The joke's on me. I get it. It's over now. Time to move on.

Fly by Time

Purely by accident (and truly, honestly, by God's oath, it really was an accident), I realised that exactly 12 months ago yesterday was one fine memorable day that blipped my life for a little bit. The person I was 6 months ago would've mulled this over and over and over again. And 6 months ago I did mull over it again and again and again, so many times that it almost did my head in, but the person I am now has forgotten about it and only re-discovered this memory by chance when pouring over beautiful memories (ie, memories = photos to decorate my office at work)

I was a little bit "meh" about it at first because often, circumstances play funny things in my life. These things are completely out of my control and I have developed a huge dislike of being out of control. I had tried so desperately (and rather successfully) to purge the past but I keep getting brought back there. So now, rather than letting it consume me, I just let it slide.

I am quite "meh" because if it's meant to be a part of me then I can't do anything about it. I am in a good place and I'm not going to let it spoil it for me. I only write about it now because it amused me how differently my brain currently works... 22 June.... just another day on the calendar now :)

Funny how some things work out fine when you really really want it to, but other times it just seems so difficult.

Besides, I have discovered new ways of stalking and it's giving me unrivalled thrills ;)

Watch out for it, my next story!

I am.... late....

eerrrrmmmmmm hmmm where shall I begin???

*sigh*

I have been kept busy in the last 6 weeks and although with the bestest of intentions, I have begun so many different drafts of various posts and never quite got around to finishing them off. Bad me. I know.

I must be disappointing my huge readership of 3.87 humans and 2 dogs (that's right, my dogs are literate in English as well as Dog).

It seems so very pointless to post them now because my terrible writing is largely stemmed from fast-fleeting emotions and memories, it becomes very difficult to go back and revisit those feelings I had when I first began writing those drafts. I hate that.

I hate that I have begun something that I can't complete, it makes me feel like I have failed.

I don't like failing.

So, to allay those feelings of failure I will make a compilation post. Oh what a wonderful brilliant mind I possess!
(yes, yes, you are quite the remarkable chicky-babe)

So, what's been the buzz the last few weeks in this little corner?

  1. New job, new phone, new friends
  2. Love love luuuuurve my new job!
  3. Love love luuuuurve my new phone, but don't call me, I'll call you. It's all on the company anyway (kekekekeke)
  4. I really really miss my Nokia
  5. My new friends are alcoholics. My new friends are generous alcoholics.
  6. My new friends are fun. They're funny. Funny drunks. Yes, they are a bunch of generous funny drunks.
  7. I attended a brainwashing seminar and it reinforced my theory of... (now, everybody sing out loud with me) "You Can't Fix Stupid!"

The one key thing I took away from that brainwashing was this comprehensive list of people who bore me....

  • Stupid people
  • Anally-retentive and pedantic people
  • Bossy people
  • Greedy people
  • Selfish people
  • Dull people
  • Slow people
  • Arrogant smartarses (who really are stupid people in disguise)
  • Narrow-minded people
  • Mean people
  • Cruel people
  • People who judge others by their looks
  • People who judge themselves by their looks
  • People who think they are better than others
  • People who think themselves as beautiful and thus better than others
  • People who mock the less fortunate

I guess in essence, most people bore me, but that's been no big secret. It's just that this was the first time that I had time to sit down and list them all like this.

Oh, I also learnt some useful brainwashing, I mean, "marketing" strategies as well....

Continuing on...

8. I was counting to myself one day on the way home from work. I have had 5 jobs in less than 10 years. Mmmm.... commitment-issues perhaps?

9. I wrote something I titled "easy" - where I only make sense to myself and that will be one draft I think I'll have to find time to finish to make any sense of it. (updated!)

10. No more complaining about boring work. I'm certainly gonna be kept busy on my little tootsies. Fortunately, I have an awesome new boss.

11. Speaking of tootsies, I must go shoe-shopping. I so totally deserve new shoes!

12. My sleeping patterns are slowly returning to some sort of routine. I no longer sleep at 4am and wake up whenever. Well, not every night anyway... :)

13. I miss my dates with Georgie and Manu... actually, I still see Georgie but it's just not quite the same.

14. I have laughed a lot recently. I feel great. I feel so good I think I even look better. I've even put on weight but I think that might be the influence of the alcoholics.

15. I have to find time to visit the gym regularly again or Trevor might forget who I am...

So there ya go, my life in a flash. It only took me 2 years to get here and there's still a long long road ahead but at least it doesn't look quite so hard anymore.

In the meantime, I gots an exciting trip to Japan to plan for. No wait, I still got a Sydney trip and then back to Tassie for a bit and THEN Japan. Woo hoo!

Tigerland!

Oh we're from Tigerland
A fighting fury
We're from Tigerland
In any weather you will see us with a grin
Risking head and shin
If we're behind then never mind
We'll fight and fight and win
For we're from Tigerland.
We never weaken till the final siren's gone
Like the Tiger of old
We're strong and we're bold
For we're from Tiger (yellow and black)
We're from Tigerland!

Something to remember or something to forget?

It's a 4 year anniversary of ambivalence.

Unfortunately, it's become a very large part of my life so even if I try, I cannot completely forget it. The date will always be with me.

Frustrated Tiger

Dreamtime at the 'G...

I s'pose if you are a Bombers supporter it was Dreamtime but if you were me, it was verging on nightmarish. You'd think I'd be used to it all by now because my Tiger boys have reciprocated my fierce loyalty with nothing but disappointment. However, losing is not something I want to get used to.

First half of the game was pretty decent but what the hell happened in the second half??? I saw two different groups playing for the same team last night *sigh* I guess it doesn't matter, I'm not chasing an answer here. They don't have one to give me anyway.

So while my beloved Yellow and Blacks were desperately trying to lose the game, my interest had wained from the match and wandered onto other more serious contemplations of life, such as, how many umpires are there on the ground during a game?

It occurred to me only last night that I have watched countless AFL games but had no idea how many umpires were needed for each game... I tried to count them last night and came up with two figures, it's either 8 or 9. And when I googled it today, I got a third answer, 7.

Hmmm... so is it 7, 8 or 9???
(I'm confuddled...)

So, Tigers lost, and Essendon won but all was not lost. When we were making our way to Crown for some supper and a drink to drown the sorrows I saw this guy...

JIMMY BARTEL!
(Oh be still my beating heart!)

The moment I saw him I stopped dead in my tracks, and just stared at him for what seemed like eternity. How embarrassment. BUT, having said that, if there was one guy I wouldn't mind wrapping my arms and legs around, it would be...;p

Oh why was I dressed like a footy wench instead of my usual smoking hot self? I would probably still be there watching him had I not been dragged away by the very embarrassed and very beer-deprived Bombers supporter.

Oh, Jimmy. Thank you for making it a beautiful way to end the night :)

Easy

I thought it would be much harder than this, but as it turns out, it was me who made it more complicated than it was (as is usually the case). I thought it was too difficult to let go, but it wasn't difficult at all.

It was me. I made it difficult. I didn't want to let go.

When I wanted to let go, it was easy. When I decided to let go, it was a huge relief.
No more second guessing, no more wondering, no more mess.

And now that I don't think about it anymore, the weight on me is gone, the sadness is gone. I am relieved. I am happy.

I hate that I let it take over my life for so long. I hate that I had wasted so much time on something that made me so miserable.

It was so easy to just forget. Why didn't I do it sooner?

Naughty Girl

I have a secret and I shan't tell anybody :p

I guess this is more of a reminder to myself, in case I forget what happened, this post will jog my memory when one day in the future I start reading all this again. I'll have a little chuckle to myself because on 22 May 2009, I did a little something something that might've been a bit naughty :p

A girl's got to misbehave a little bit sometimes.

Oh, speaking of misbehaving and jogging memories, remember that time I was dancing with Snoop Dog when he toured Oz last year?

Yeah, I don't remember much of it either... :)

I'm so excited I'm almost deluded!

Update!

The job is mine!

I like it when people make up their minds quickly cos obviously there is nobody better than me. How can they choose anyone else? I am damn good :)

Hugs all round, crack open the bubbly, this girl needs to celebrate!

Finally, I can get new shoes! And with my first pay cheque I shall get my much needed camera bag. Woo hoo

Yay!

No more being bored senseless at home by myself!
No more boredom!
People to talk to last

No more sitting in front of the computer reading drab and dull job descriptions! And I'd be happy if I never have to do that again.

:)
:)
;)

On the right track

I have had a very positive 2nd interview with my potential big boss.

I cautiously say I think it went quite well. I will admit that I would be hugely disappointed if I did not land this job.

I will probably be in an extremely depressed state if I failed to land this job. And it could possibly take awhile to get out of that state of mind again. An enormous step backwards considering how far I have come in the last 5 months.

I'm so bored of looking for work. I really want this job!

Puzzle-mania

Four years ago I began a puzzle.

At first, it was just for fun so I didn't take it too seriously. I'm quite impatient and not at all interested in puzzles so it never occurred to me that I will ever finish this puzzle, I just started it for fun, for something to do, I thought I'd get bored of it eventually and move onto something more interesting. I took my time putting the pieces together, I probably found a small piece that fit every couple of months. It didn't bother me too much, I knew it was going to be a long process.

It was a difficult puzzle, very dark and mysterious. I didn't know anything about it, I didn't know how many pieces there were, I didn't know what the picture was so the outcome was to be a complete surprise. I was going into it blind but that was ok, I had a good feeling about this one. I liked it the moment I saw the pieces. I had a feeling it was going to be a fun journey.

Slowly, piece by piece I put it together and it became increasingly pleasing as time progressed. As the picture emerged and became more apparent, it became less dark so I put more time in to try to complete the puzzle. As I became more serious about it, I began seeing beautiful amazing colours that spanned the spectrum of the rainbow, and that came as a total surprise. I hadn't expected to see so many colours and so much depth at first but the more time I dedicated to it, the more I enjoyed the puzzle and the more I liked what I saw.

At one point, I think I became totally obsessed with it. It bored the living daylights out of all my friends...

They couldn't understand what the attraction was, and I couldn't explain it to them. I just wanted more. I think most people don't see how stubborn I can be when I am focussed on something. I'm a very impatient person so to grab and keep my focus for 4 years is quite an incredible feat. This puzzle has done just that.

It took me a few years to get to a stage where I thought I knew what the picture was, I thought I could finally see the result. There weren't too many more pieces to go, I was getting very very close, many of the pieces just seemed to fall into place easily by themselves... but as it turns out, just to make things difficult, I discover there are missing pieces in the box! Not just any piece of the puzzle mind you, very important pieces. The ones that make or break the picture.

I was crushed. I devoted 4 years of my life to uncovering what I thought might be a beautiful picture and now I will never know what the final product looks like. Someone has decided it was funny to hide these vital pieces from me. Not only that, I have also discovered that I have been misled. Some of the pieces were purposefully put in the wrong place to throw me off guard. I don't see the fun in teasing someone like that.

Once upon a time, it all seemed so promising but all I see now are holes.

Big giant holes.

The once beautiful picture with stunning bright colours is now just one big black mess with wide-gaping holes spelling out "You are a fool". It mocks me.

All that time I can't get back. Cheated.

Charlotte vs Cooper

oh dear, when are you two gonna get your act together?

Swallow your stupid pride, stop fighting, stop pushing each other away, time is against you.

Big sigh

My my my my my, look at who has been so mighty introspective lately!

Well, this is not an introspective post, this is a "I'm all sorts of nervous, anxious, stressed and worried" post. Back to basics!

A wonderful thing happened this morning, I was awoken early early in the morn to the beautiful sound of my phone singing to me. I absolutely love it when my phone rings because it means someone is thinking of me and wants to talk to me. I guess it all goes back to when I was a little girl, dad always told me that I would run to answer the phone whether it rang or not because I just loved talking on it (or 'to it'... if I picked it up despite nobody calling...) There's even a photo of me having a happy conversation with myself holding the phone, I was cute even back then :)

Anyway I digress, so I was excited about my phone ringing bright and early on a Friday morning... who could possibly need to speak to me so desperately that they had to call before 9am????

It was an angel!

Ok, perhaps that might be stretching it a tad... it was no angel I admit, but it was someone I was very happy to hear from despite my croaky, groggy state of slumbering stupor.

He uttered some very sexy words to me. It wasn't quite what I had wanted to hear but it came pretty damn close...

"Great news! You have been shortlisted for a second interview!"

Great. I knew the interview went well because I was just too charming. This job actually sounds quite interesting, and it has lots of scope for development and lots to learn, and the potential new boss is not too bad on the eye. I wouldn't mind looking at that every work day :)
Jokes aside, I really do want this job. To be able to start up a whole new department, what an exciting challenge!

It would have been even better had I heard these mega-orgasmic words instead,

"Congratulations, we've decided to offer you the job because you were, by far, the best candidate!" (that last part is particularly important and must be included...)

but I'll take what I can get these days.

So, after 70-odd applications, it's now down to me and some other chick.... hmmm, deja-vu anyone?

I guess I competed against over 150 applications last time and won, so why would this be any different?

Why?

Because times have changed, it is a different place out there, last year I had my pick of jobs, I had the good fortune to turn down roles that were NQR. I don't have that luxury now and that's why I'm all kinds of nervous, stress and worry. I'm very good at what I do and I'm smart. All I have to do now is convince them that I am by far the best candidate!

Wish me luck

1997

1997 - One random place, one boy, one girl

David S. Santos, please meet Miss Girl-Upside-Down.

You won't know this yet, but she will be in your life for at least the next 12 years - yes, it is quite unbelievable, but it's the truth.

She will make you laugh
She will share your thoughts
She will provide timely advice
She will be a bearer of good and bad news
She will listen when you need a sympathetic ear
She will never judge you
She will need your wisdom and advice from time to time
She will be sometimes rather annoying
She may talk too much occasionally
She may ramble on frequently
She is a fiercely loyal friend.
As long as she considers you a good friend, she will never leave you and you will never be rid of her.

The two of you will go through many ups and downs in your own separate lives but she will need, and will cherish deeply, your support and love over the years.

Did you ever think that you will find a friend in one silly, quirky, slightly odd & a little bit weird Aussie chick who is really not quite all there sometimes, lingering around in your life for 12 whole years? Would you have gone through with the deal had you known what you were signing up for, Dave?

Perhaps not... but I'm glad you did because you may not realize the influence you have had in my life but I can tell you that I would be a different person now had I not met you way back when in random land.

I know I have been difficult sometimes, and you have been so incredibly patient with me during those times. I have a tendency to push people away, out of my life, for no apparently good reason but I am ever so grateful that you have somehow become resistant to that.

You may not remember this, but I was really glad to have you there when I was going through a really tough time with Mr Jerkface. I refused to tell you what happened then and I know it frustrated you but you sensed something was wrong.

You saw that I was a mess and you stayed to listen despite not knowing exactly what had happened or what you could do to help. Please believe me when I say that if I knew how to tell you I would not have hesitated. It was difficult for me and I didn't want to remember all the dreadful and awful things he did, and I didn't want you to worry. It was something I needed to forget. I wish I could forget.

I can never thank you enough for putting up with it. You had no idea what was going on but you still tried to help. For anyone else, it might have been easier to just let me wallow in self-pity but you didn't.

You were there when my life turned around the day I met Chris and enjoyed with me those young blissful years. You tried to offer solace when I was devastated after it ended so suddenly. At the time, I had wished for some big arms to wrap around me so I could hide from the world, but you told me that I can't hide forever no matter how hard I try... I cursed you for being right, but I still wanted that hug.

You saw me through university, then trying to find a job, and then jumping to another job, and yet more jobs... and put up with me teasing you for staying with the same employer for 15 years.

Despite time playing its toll and dragging us in very different and separate directions, somehow, like an older brother I had always wanted, you always manage to appear and offer much needed advice when I am at a crossroads in my life. I will admit now that I don't always take your advice on board, but I know you won't mind because, ultimately, to live a great life, one has to make mistakes and learn from them.

And I have made many many countless mistakes...

After 12 years, you still make me laugh, your words of wisdom can still make me cry and I can't believe you still remember how we first met and what I said to you back then.

It always makes my day when you bring it up. Thanks Dave!

Love,
Some random, quirky, chick from Oz

Sorry for feeling sorry

It’s 5 degrees outside tonight, but it feels twice as cold inside and I’m balled up in the corner of the couch, motionless, whiling away the hours trying to keep myself warm.

It’s a low point in time, as I sit at home alone, no job, no man, no friends, no money and no hobby, just trying to be invisible.

Until I learn of the death of Daniel. Brave brave Daniel, an amazing and inspiring young kid. Faced with something he had no control over, he fought it with such determination and an awesome positive energy that most adults would find difficult to match.

If I had been put into his boots, I would’ve taken the weaker path. I would be devastated and crushed and I’d have been very angry with the world. I’d have made life extremely difficult for the people around me because I would feel that if I can’t be healthy and happy, then it would only be fair that nobody else has the right to be healthy or happy either. That would be me. It’s all about me. Selfish me.

Daniel took the more courageous path. He didn’t want his parents and friends to be sad for him. He had dreams. He had goals. He just wanted to live, but he ran out of time.

Time is all I own…” hour after endless hour I sit around like a sorry lump of sad sack waiting for something to happen, pretending not to exist and now I feel guilty. It’s like I have stolen the time that Daniel had cherished so much because his time was limited.

Sometimes, life is unfair. There should be more people like Daniel around. People like Daniel make a difference to our lives. As cliche as it may sound, they make this world a better place, but I guess God had bigger plans for him and needed him back sooner.

Sometimes we focus so much on the little things in life that don’t really matter and we struggle, but life shouldn’t be a struggle. Life should be embraced!

I’m sorry Daniel. I’m not sure I understand why I, or anybody else, deserves to be here more than you, but if there is a purpose for your loss, one of them is probably to stop me focusing on the little things that don’t matter and I promise I won’t waste the time I have stolen from you.

I'm in love! I'm in love! I'm in love!

(Lovers Electric is playing loudly in my head, or is it on my computer? Difficult to distinguish between the two these days)

oh yes, I'm in love!
Oh I cannot choose - Manu or George?
But do I have to choose??
They can both park their slippers under my bed... ;)
I think I was in heaven today, I saw them both - together!
Both men handsome in their uniforms.
Heaven. Pure. Heaven.
How can I tell them how much I adore them?

I love them both so much I see them everywhere I go. A short little bald man crosses my path and I want to run up to him and wrap my arms around him and lick his shiny bald head. I see a big tall hairy man and I want to grab onto his leg and beg him to recite recipes to me in his sexy French accent. But of course, they are not my beloved Manu or George. So it might be a tad weird to lick someone's head or grab a stranger's leg......

There's a short little bald man at my gym who is a spitting image of my beloved Georgie. I can't take my eyes off him. I think I'll have to try and make that morning class more frequently, just to watch my Georgie, I mean *ahem* of course I also go to gym so I can get fit and healthy, yes yes, I do.... ;p

I ain't no stalker girl

Rightio, new mission in life, must do The Press Club and Bilson's, preferably this year.

10 years on

10 years ago I wrote this:

She said I was a sad person
I can see why now
I’m thinking too much
And unhappy with where I am

She said I was a sad person
That she could see it in my eyes
I understand her now
I couldn’t see it then
But I understand it now

Through my eyes, she sensed my loneliness
She could see the frustration, building up in my mind
She feels the lines of inadequacy bombarding my every move
In every minute of my day, she could see the tiredness, the boredom, the inadequacy, loneliness and guilt dragging its ugly arms and legs around me as I carry on as if I have not a care in the world

I like being like this
I enjoy the pain that you inflict
I write this in frustration knowing that you will never understand or want to understand

10 years on and I haven’t really progressed very far…
But I have to wonder, who on earth was I writing about and what the bejeezus was going on in my head at the time?

Lost!

Just because I’m losing
Doesn’t mean I’m lost
Doesn’t mean I’ll stop
Doesn’t mean I would cross

Just because I’m hurting
Doesn’t mean I’m hurt
Doesn’t mean I didn’t get
What I deserved
No better and no worse

I just got lost
Every river that I tried to cross
Every door I ever tried was locked
Ohhh, and I’m…
Just waiting ’til the shine wears off

You might be a big fish
In a little pond
Doesn’t mean you’ve won
‘Cause along may come
A bigger one

And you’ll be lost
Every river that you tried to cross
Every gun you ever held went off
Ohhh, and I’m…
Just waiting until the firing stopped
Ohhh, and I’m…
Just waiting ’til the shine wears off

Ohhh, and I…
Just waiting ’til the shine wears off
Ohhh, and I..
Just waiting ’til the shine wears off

One Of Those Days - Josh Radin

Wait right here
Is all she said to me
and so right here I stay,
Time has reached our home
and I’ve been left alone,
it’s carried her away,
and everyone keeps saying
nothing helps but time,
time is all I own,
and time won’t stop replaying over in my mind
I watch the hours slow down,

so I crawl
underneath my blanket
where I can hide away
I know I can’t take it
cause I see now
it’s just one of those days,

Now a year has passed
alone I stay inside
and I await the rain,
to wash away your face so I don’t have to hide,
the sight of you is painful,

so I crawl
underneath my blanket
where I can hide away
I know I can’t take it anymore
cause I see now
it’s just one of those days,

I can’t stop seeing your face,
I can’t stop seeing your face,
every place

so I crawl
underneath my blanket
where I can hide away
I know I can’t take it anymore
cause I see now
it’s just one of those days...

Slap one on me!

What is this I keep hearing on the radio??

Lovelorn singles are being advised to wear a sign that screams to the world “YES, I AM currently UNloved by anybody!”

Well actually, that may be an exaggeration, perhaps it's not a sign as such but rather a small badge... and it doesn't exactly scream I am unloved but instead says "YIS.com.au" or "Yes, I am Single" for the uninitiated. And they're selling this for $22.95! Imagine that, making money out of desperate, sad, tragic ugly people... how unscrupulous.

Surely nobody is gonna fall for something so ridiculously stupid????
But then again, I shouldn't underestimate the stupid.... because as we all know, you just can't fix stupid...

Why don't they just wear a big flashing sign over their heads that says "Hey look at me, I'm a loser who can't score a date!"

Hmm.... on second thoughts, where do I get me one of them badges? :p

(oh goodness, I really need some fresh material, brain turning to mush by the second, must f.i.n.d. a j.o.b. a.s.a.p!)

I never thought this would happen

First up, did you know it's APRIL FOOL'S today??? I had no idea...

* I saw a super hot and very sexy accordion player. No, really, I know what you're thinking, come on girl, are you for real? he plays an accordion, what a dork! I know. I totally agree but oh he was so good-looking! Or perhaps my standards are dropping? *gasp!*

* My dad came home and proudly showed me a parking fine he found on his car.... not something that one would normally be proud of however, this time this fine didn't belong to him. So, what was he doing with it? Well, turns out it's a scam! Some sneaky bastard copped a parking fine (for not paying for parking) YESTERDAY and today went back to the same carpark and slapped the fine onto a random car (dad's....) thinking whoever gets the fine will just pay it for them. So damn sneaky!

So anyways, if you know the arsehole who owns a Subaru station wagon, rego# QCZ 607, who preys on poor little senior citizens to pay his parking fine, give him a strong backhander and a kick in the nuts for me.

* Not working is making it really difficult for me to sleep, last night I went to bed at midnight, toss and turned for a couple of hours and finally gave up and began reading random blogs on my mobile (God-bless internet on mobile, how did I ever live without it?) until it was time to let the dogs out for their morning wee. It made me really depressed because those other bloggers were so insightful... what the hell am I doing here???? But then again, I guess even Barbie would seem insightful at 5am in the morning...

* Anyhoos, I watched the comedy gala on tv the other night and almost didn't laugh at anything. Now THAT'S a feat in itself, I can laugh at a roast potato, so this year's comedy festival is not looking promising....

* Speaking of comedy, I nearly wet myself at the doctor's surgery when I read this in one of their magazines today - a man went to see a doctor and was diagnosed with a funny condition, the doctor told a nurse that the patient had pholenofetry. Never having heard of this condition, she wanted to know what the symptoms were... doctor repeated again the condition more slowly this time, the patient had "fallen off a tree" *boom boom* Still funny hours later :)

* Last night on tv (yes, I watch a helluva lot of tv these days) there were some rather less-than-pretty girls who were earning $1000 on average per day... I thought to myself, hang on one moment, I could easily look average, can I also be earning $1000 each day like they are????

Answer: YES I CAN!

Apparently they were strippers (not very good-looking ones at that), however they claim mostly what they get paid to do is not to take their clothes off. Get this, lonely perverts actually pay average-looking girls money not to strip but rather to play Wii with them whilst scantily-clad. Well, what can I say? That just plain disgusted me. HELLO?!?!?! I can play Wii! And if anybody bought ME a Wii, I am more than happy to play with them FOR FREE! Yep, I said FREE. My time is free of charge if I get a Wii. Buy me a Wii and I'll play with you a.n.y.t.i.m.e you want. And I don't look half bad in a bikini either :p

Actually, raincheck on the bikini idea.... that might take a bit more than a Wii....

Woah, you know things are dandy if I'm semi-toying with the idea of stripping for a living based on one stupid current affairs segment :p And not only am I watching current affairs programs but I'm also believing the crap that comes out of it! I either watching too much tv or not getting enough sleep.... or both... shit

I really need a job. Desperately!

* righto, #promise to self# no more late-night internet, wee morning hours are for resting.

Uh-oh boredom sets in...

Goodnight Bullcreek You were the world to me Now you’re just a well worn postcode for the memories I drove down your road Searching for I don’t know I was hoping I might find Something I’d left long behind I stayed up all night thinking of ways to tell you That my whole life I been here waiting for you Now my heart is blind And I’m losing my mind When you love someone so much it hurts Stuck in two minds Under a starlit sky With the pitter patter footsteps Of the passers by While I chose the road The road less travelled by And sometimes its dark and lonely Living with all your if onlys But the hardest part of it all Aint the pictures hung in the hall
But the silent screed in the night Turning out my broken light I stayed up all night thinking of ways to tell you That my whole life I been here waiting for you Now my heart is blind And I’m losing my mind When you love someone so much it hurts When you love someone so much Really love someone so much When you love someone so much it really hurrrr hurrrr hurts When you love someone so much it hurts

I've been watching your world from afar I've been trying to be where you are And I've been secretly falling apart Unseen To me, you're strange and you're beautiful You'd be so perfect with me But you just can't see You turn every head but you don't see me I'll put a spell on you You'll fall asleep When I put a spell on you And when I wake you I'll be the first thing you see And you'll realize that you love me Yeah
Ye-ah Sometimes the last thing you want comes in first Sometimes the first thing you want never comes But I know that waiting is all you can do Sometimes I'll put a pell on you You'll fall asleep When I put a spell on you And when I wake you I'll be the first thing you see And you'll realise that you love me I'll put a spell on you You'll fall asleep Cause I put a spell on you And when I wake you I'll be the first thing you see And you'll realize that you love me, yeah Yeah Ye-ah Yeah Ye-ah

These days you barely even say my name, Like you don't really feel the same, I'm wondering what's to blame, These nights I fall asleep wondering where you are, It feels like we're falling apart, And it's only breaking my heart, Cause if being with you means being alone, And never knowing when you're coming home, Then I guess I'm better off on my own, But I can't move on, Cause that makes forgetting, forgetting everything we've had Instead I keep coming, keep coming, I keep running back Cause I keep forgetting, forgetting you treat me so bad So I keep coming, keep coming, I keep running back (I keep coming back)My friends say that I should leave you behind,
And stop wasting all my time, They tell me that I am out of my mind, But I know that what we both share is real, And I've been willing to deal, With the way that you're making me feel, Cause if being with you means being alone, And never knowing when you're coming home, Then I guess I'm better off on my own, But I can't move on, Cause that makes me forgetting, forgetting everything we've had Instead I keep coming, keep coming, I keep running back Cause I keep forgetting, forgetting you treat me so bad So I keep coming, keep coming, I keep running back I keep coming back
Ma ma ma mama caught up, We done all heard the same story, Just different authors this book crazy, Always a lady looking for love where there's a lame, They might could be together, They fight to be together, Aight to be together, Shorty yeah he cheated, You say you don't need it, Turn around and leave it, Oh he back next week,
Fuss... Fight, And then the whole thing repeat like nothing ever happened, Dat was just rapping, No publishing, Shorty you knew that he don't got the same government,
Lil mama can't move on, But it's her fault she struggling, She can't... move... on,
But I can't move on, Cause that means forgetting, forgetting everything we've had,
I keep coming, keep coming, keep coming back, I keep running back
I keep running back to you

Who's gonna pick you up? Who's gonna bend your rules? Who's gonna be your prop? Who's gonna play your fool? Nobody know just how it feels today Nobody sees how our hearts break Who's gonna watch your back? Who's gonna reel you in? Who'll make surprise attacks? Who's gonna be there at the end? Nobody knows just how it feels today Nobody sees how our hearts break Who's gonna bring you round? Who's gonna let you sleep? Who's gonna break frown? Who's gonna fall down at your feet? Nobody knows......

When you are set to throw in your hand When you are far from home When what you believe is buried in your hands When you feel outgrown I’ll be the one to pick you up again When you decide you’ve had enough of it I’ll be the one I’ll be the one
When your speech is slow When your eyes are closed When you feel betrayed When your heart is frayed When your feet are cold When your sights are low I’ll be the one to pick you up again When you decide you’ve had enough of it I’ll be the one I’ll be the one

What's the time? Seems its already morning I see the sky, its so beautiful and blue
The TV's on But the only thing showing is a picture of you Oh, I get up and make myself some coffee I try to read a bit but the story's too thin Then I thank the Lord above That you're not there to see me In this shape I'm in Spending my time
Watching the days go by Feeling so small I stare at the wall Hoping that you think of me too I'm spending my time I try to call but I don't know what to tell you I leave a kiss on your answering machine Oh, help me please Is there someone who can make me Wake up from this dream? Spending my time Watching the days go by Feeling so small I stare at the wall Hoping that you are missing me too I'm spending my time Watching the sun go down I fall asleep to the sound Of "tears of a clown" A prayer gone blind I'm spending my time My friends keep telling me: Hey, life will go on
Time will make sure will get over you This silly game of love you play you win only to lose Spending my time Watching the days go by Feeling so small I stare at the wall Hoping that you are missing me too I'm spending my time Watching the sun go down I fall asleep to the sound Of "tears of a clown" A prayer gone blind

I never loved nobody fully Always one foot on the ground And by protecting my heart truly I got lost in the sounds I hear in my mind All these voices I hear in my mind all these words I hear in my mind all this music And it breaks my heart And it breaks my heart And it breaks my heart It breaks my heart And suppose I never met you Suppose we never fell in love Suppose I never ever let you kiss me so sweet and so soft Suppose I never ever saw you Suppose we never ever called Suppose I kept on singing love songs just to break my own fall Just to break my fall Just to break my fall Break my fall Break my fall All my friends say that of course its gonna get better Gonna get better Better better better better Better better better I never love nobody fully Always one foot on the ground And by protecting my heart truly I got lost In the sounds I hear in my mind All these voices I hear in my mind all these words I hear in my mind All this music And it breaks my heart It breaks my heart Breaks my Heart Breaks my heart

You look into my eyes I go out of my mind I can't see anything Cos this love's got me blind I can't help myself I can't break the spell I can't even try I'm in over my head You got under skin I got no strength at all In the state that I'm in And my knees are weak And my mouth can't speak Fell too far this time Baby, I'm too lost in you Caught in you Lost in everything about you So deep, I can't sleep I can't think
I just think about the things that you do (you do) I'm too lost in you (Too lost in you) Well you whispered to me And I shiver inside You undo me and move me In ways undefined And you're all I see And you're all I need Help me baby (help me baby) Help me baby (help me now) Cos I'm slipping away Like the sand to the tide Falling into your arms Falling into your eyes If you get too near I might disappear I might lose my mind Baby, I'm too lost in you Caught in you Lost in everything about you So deep, I can't sleep I can't think I just think about the things that you do (you do)
I'm too lost in you Too lost in you) I'm going in crazy in love for you baby (I can't eat and I can't sleep) I'm going down like a stone in the sea Yeah, no one can rescue me (No one can rescue me) Baby, I'm too lost in you Caught in you Lost in everything about you So deep, I can't sleep I can't think I just think about the things that you do (you do) I'm too lost in you I'm lost in you I'm lost in you I'm lost in everything about you So deep (so deep), I can't sleep I can't think I just think about the things that you do (you do) I'm too lost in you (Too lost in you)

you want more space i want less distance you want more words I want less noise you speak in rhythms i dream in wishes we've got nowhere left to hide you see the sun I see the burning you see good things in everyone The closer my heart is the further my head is from you The more that I need you the less I can see what to do you want my hand I want the darkness you want the warmth I want the cold you walk ahead I walk in circles we've got nowhere left to go you see the sun I see the burning you see good things in everyone The closer my heart is the further my head is from you
The more that I need you the less I can see what to do

All that I have is all that you've given me did you never worry that I'd come to depend on you I gave you all the love I had in me now I find you've lied and I can't believe it's true Wrapped in her arms I see you across the street and I can't help but wonder if she knows what's going on you talk of love but you don't know how it feels when you realise that you're not the only one Oh you'd better stop before you tear me all apart you'd better stop before you go and break my heart ooh you'd better stop Time after time I've tried to walk away but it's not that easy when your soul is torn in two so I just resign myself to it every day now all I can do is to leave it up to you Oh you'd better stop before you tear me all apart you'd better stop before you go and break my heart ooh you'd better stop Stop if love me (you will remember) now's the time to be sorry (that day forever) I won't believe that you'd walk out on me Oh you'd better stop before you tear me all apart you'd better stop before you go and break my heart ooh you'd better stop

Maha Middle Eastern delights with my chum

Considering my "situation" at the moment, spending $35 on one lunch is probably the last thing I should be doing, especially as I will also be out for lunch tomorrow as well, and considering I was out for lunches most of last week.... that's a lot of money spent on lunches.

Here's a lesson to learn, keep in touch with your friends regularly rather than always doing these "let's-catch-up-I-haven't-seen-you-in-ages" lunches *sigh* I didn't realise there were so many people I actually liked out there, where did they all sprout from? I'm going broke (and fat) just catching up with all of you :p

Anyways, I digress.. so I had another lunch date before I piss off to Tassie next week, (going to Tassie is probably not gonna help my financial situation but oh well). I had to make the most of the wonderful Melbourne Food and Wine Festival this week and we all know how much I enjoy food (and the occasional vino...)

And here's what I got for my $35 bucks at Maha

(Entree)

They called this dish "26 hour pork belly, apple, walnut tabbouleh with honey feta foam" I call this dish YUMMMMMMMMM
That foamy thing was interesting and if I could've licked the plate without embarrassing my dear friend I would have

(Main)

And this one they called "Tuna with harissa warra inhib with grape dressing and rice foam" but I would call it OMG THIS IS INCREDIBLE AND DELICIOUS
Not really sure why I got 2 dishes with foam while my dining partner didn't get any foam at all but I say bring on the foam cos I like!

No sweets this time (*gasp!* I know, I can't believe we both opted out of sweets this time) but we did get wine and this is a piccy of my empty glass of pinot gris next to a stunning bottle of lemony water to wash our hands with

Chit chat, good food, good wine, good company, good weather, can't ask for much more than that! Lunch tomorrow has a lot to live upto after Maha.

And after all this, I finally concede that yes, I enjoy food, but I really can't be bothered writing about it simply because there are so many talented passionate foodies out there who do a far better job but I will continue to photograph my food and tell people how much I love it, or not. I'll stick to what I know best - useless ramblings.

Earn $70,000 for hardly any effort

Earn a profit of $370,000 in 6mths or upto $1 million in 12mths!

When it's quantified like that, it all certainly sounds great doesn't it? Well, the person who told me I could do just that (and potentially more) really made it sound so easy.

Is it a job? Not quite.
Is it legal? *nods*
Is it risky? Yes and no
Can anybody do it? Apparently so.... they just don't know how
Can I do it? I'm not really sure - yet.
What is it? Well, can't let everybody in on the secret.

In 12mths time, if I have anywhere close to $1 million stashed away under a mattress somewhere (perhaps in my Spanish villa, where you will find me being waited on hand and foot by my sexy Spanish male servants) then you will know it all works, otherwise...

well, let's hope there is no "otherwise" to speak of.
12mths, $1 million. That's my goal.

On a different note, I did a bad thing today. I somehow managed walk out of a restaurant without paying for a meal... it's not the first time, and it probably won't be the last time and I don't know how I do it and I swear I didn't do it on purpose and I'm really scared that karma is gonna come back and bite me on the bum for this :(

Honestly, I offered them money for my food, I waved my money at them, I waved it right in their faces but they ignored me and my cash and proceeded to take another order.... so I waited for my food, and my food arrived and I gave one last vain attempt to hand over my money to no avail, so I walked out of there with food and money in tact.

I put it down to poor customer service and rude staff. The combination of these 2 deadly business jinxes always seem to benefit me, so I really shouldn't complain.

But I believe in karma..............................

I'm so sorry karma! I really didn't mean it. I'm a good person, I really am!

Just a little bit scared

Having used public transport regularly since I can't remember when.... I believe I had the most harrowing experience -ever- I think the bus driver was trained by the big red guy, Satan, himself. Determined to scare the living daylights out of all that had boarded so that we may sell our souls to him cheaply, just so could arrive in one piece.

I don't think I've ever gotten off a bus and thanked the Lord, Allah, Buddha, Ganesha, the little green Alien men with big bug eyes and whatever other higher beings there are out there (up there? in there? wherever) that I came out of that ride unscathed.

I'm not 100% sure, but I reckon I even made the sign of the cross just as I stepped off because I was so grateful to be leaving the devil's wheels - and I'm not even remotely religious.

Just a little scare to add to the bigger more intimidating idea that I will be unemployed as of end of tomorrow... no idea what's gonna happen, no idea where I'm going to go, no freaking idea what I want to do and worse of all - no money to keep me going. That is somewhat worrying.

Time to look for a wealthy husband is probably the easiest option :)
Because multi-billionares are just roaming the streets like bees around honey waiting for me to pick and choose..... (if only eh?)

Yup, I am so far up shit creek, I'm not sure how to get out of it.

Ah well, should better start looking for work instead of time-wasting.

Stars

"You needn't look for love outside yourself, only for the barriers you put up against it. Because love isn't something you need to be given - it's something inside you that you give to others. At any given moment, all the love you need is right there, available and accessible."

What a load of crap for losers.

Screw that! Give me your love, all day any day, I need it, I crave it, I thrive on it, lay all your love on me - or however way that song goes... hmm, actually, that sort of came out a little bit wrong ;) but you all know what I mean. I need to be loved or I wilt without it.

Superhero - Part 2

LOOK!
Look at this gorgeous little face!
Who is this little cutie?
Well, I called her Moo Moo until we found out her name was actually Jessie.
So from then on, she became known as little Miss Jessie Moo Moo.

How did I come to meet Miss Jessie Moo Moo?
No, she's not my new dog, I already have 2, and that is more than enough (especially Sooty, she's definitely more than a handful).

Funny story, we were on our way back from the gym when this skinny little dog bolted onto the road, right in front of our car, I almost had a heart attack thinking I would see this little dog get run over by a car, not exactly a great start to my Sunday morning...

So of course, I had to bring out my (somewhat) dusty superhero persona and save this little dog from being flattened by oncoming traffic. What is it with dogs bolting onto traffic right in front of me anyway? Luckily this time I had Lulu with me, because an hour's worth of cycling had drained me of any real energy to run after a frightened dog on a Sunday morning... we both kind of cornered it into someone's driveway and Lulu befriended it with her kind doggy talk.

She was a friendly little thing (Jessie, not Lulu... but Lulu is a friendly little thing too :)

She kind of stunk, but then again, I probably did too :)

Here she is playing with Taxi and Sooty in the back yard. I know I know I know, it's not a great shot, but you try taking a good shot of all 3 very excited dogs who just want to run around and play. It's not easy to get them all in the same frame, and less than easy trying to get a focussed shot.

Sleeping anywhere and everywhere

So buggered after a hard day's play

Look at those very bovine-like markings... Can you see why I called her Moo Moo?
She even kind of responded to being called Moo.

In the end, what happened to Miss Jessie Moo Moo?
Well, lucky for her she was wearing a council registration tag, so we called them up and found out the phone number of the owner and gave them a call. They came to pick her up later in the afternoon. So Miss Moo had an entire day playing around with Taxi and Sooty.

Turns out, some nasty person had broken into her home the night before and, perhaps accidentally, let her out. She had been out on the streets all night, and with the storms coming through last night, she must've been so frightened on her own. Poor thing.

I'm just glad that we found her safe and sound, and was able to return her back to her very worried owners. That was good deed done for this week.

What a feel good day.
In fact, I felt so good, I went shopping and bought myself a very pwetty little dress (with somebody else's money of course, cos I haz to save money for when I become unemployed :)

Now I have doubled my feel good factor for the week.
