There really is a God

Yes, I know - awhile ago I gave myself a choice between 2 evils, chocolate or cheese. It was a difficult decision but I chose cheese... and I still would, but then... these scrumptious little devils of a cupcake turn up in my life, woah! I've been dreaming about these gorgeous little morsels since getting a taste for them at my friend Marisa's party a few days ago.

Check out these little cuties (well, one of the cuties cos we just couldn't keep out hands off them, only one was left....)

OMG - mmmm.... cupcakes.... arrrrggghhhh

A day in Parliament

On Sunday, Lulu, Chris, Sue, Lulu's friend, Lisa, and me all skipped along to Victoria's Parliament House Open Day - why? Well, because none of us had ever stepped foot inside Parliament House and because it was... well, Open!

It was interesting, but not interesting enough. I kind of expected to be inundated with a lot of information about how Parliament works and have the history of each room described in detail to me, but that was not to be.... oh well, I still enjoyed myself. We still had the famous scones (and tea).

Lulu posing, me sitting in the Council Chambers bored senseless by 'Parliament', and me posing 'seductively' before all the other tourists crammed our shot

Us, stuffing our faces with scones, good scones, delicious scones, yummy scones. My happy face says it all!

It happened again

Remember a while ago I got stuck behind in a bus that just wouldn't move?

Well.... it's happened again! I got stuck on a bus that just inched along bit by bit and finally died on top of the Westgate..... *sigh* of all people, WHY DID IT HAVE TO HAPPEN TO ME AGAIN?! I caught the earlier bus so I should've reached home much earlier but alas, that was not to be...

C'est la vie....

I also did the stupidest stupidest thing EVER - and I mean EVER!

Let's just say, it involves ex-flings and the evil that is Facebook and from my stupidity, I should stop my cyber stalking activities right away! OMG, even just thinking about what I did makes me cringe. Never again, never ever ever again!

Chocolate vs Cheese

It would have to be a fair competition, the chocolate and the cheese would have to be of somewhat equal quality, you just can't put good quality chocolate with a really bad cheese (urgh, bad cheese.... blech) or a really good cheese with very ordinary chocolate, that wouldn't be fair.

I love chocolate but I choose cheese.

Cheese every single time.

Lubbly Lubbly Sunday

What a beautiful Sunday it was yesterday.
Weather was so perfect so we went down to St Kilda and enjoyed a nice day exploring this part of town that we hadn't ventured to for so long... so many shops that have opened and closed since we were last here. So many new shops that doesn't seem to quite belong in this strip.

So many families down at the beach, so many kids at Luna Park, and yet some things don't change - the foreshore market hasn't really changed much, still selling what was being sold 20 years ago and probably by the same people too.

Pleasant.

.....

I'm getting the feeling that I am at the wrong station in life....

Knowing me, I got off at the wrong stop

And really have only just realised that this is not where I'm supposed to be, how sad

This is not how I imagined my life to be at this stage in my life but I guess, while I'm here, I might as well take some time to enjoy it, it's not every day that you get to turn 20-something ;p

Here I am - SIMPSONIZED!

Look at me! This is what I look like as a Simpsons' character - although I must admit, it seems everybody looks the same as a Simpsons' character.....

I lost my car and Lulu passed out

Well, what a start to my weekend!

Lulu and I decided to give blood and even though we did everything that was asked of us, ya know like, drink lots of water, and eat before hand etc etc etc, Lulu still blacked out! Gave me a bit of a fright she did, one moment she was talking to me normally and the next moment her eyes rolled to the back of her head and she was sliding off the chair. Poor me, I could only hold her head so she wouldn't fall off and hurt herself. Frightening stuff at the time but really funny afterwards. In fact, we really can't stop telling people about it and we can't stop laughing about it ourselves... then,

Friday night, dinner at the delectable Moroccan Soup Bar - yum yum yum

Friday night drinkies for my birthday at Manchuria, simply because Der Raum was booked out - poops
After drinkies, we couldn't find our way back into the carpark, and no - we were not drunk yet.

Saturday, had to work... drove to work (for the first time), parked car in carpark, after work, could not find car in said carpark. Started to worry... went to every level of the carpark, finally found car in a rather empty carpark on the first floor that I thought I had checked... very embarrasing moment, and starting to worry about my sanity.

Sunday, lunch with some friends, meeting at Docklands, lots of traffic, hard to find parking, change location to South Melbourne, but could not get in touch with one of the friends. Called and called, left lots of messages, sent a stack of sms'es but got no response, started to worry, so we decided to go back to Docklands to look for her. Couldn't find her, after an hour of worry, we decided that her phone battery was flat and we should have lunch (all of us were very very ravenous by this time, it was nearly 3pm).

After lunch, drove to airport to collect my folks, who were coming back from Sydney. Drove car into carpark, and lose ticket immediately. No idea where it's gone. I reckon I didn't take the ticket from the machine, everybody else reckons I'd dropped it - I'm not sure, I remember pushing the button, but don't remember taking the ticket.... really starting to worry about the state of my mind now....

Things that make me go "aaawwwwww - you shouldn't have!"

I don't know where to start, but boy did I have a great birthday yesterday. The weather started off perfect. Have I ever told you that it never rains on my birthday? Mother Nature is kind to me :)

My kids are so wonderful, they surprised me with 6 boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts, and came up with this hairbrain idea that we can give away a donut for each person who wishes me a happy birthday and gives me a hug. Very cute, and very sweet but what happens if I don't want to hug some smelly uni student? I couldn't escape it.... 75 hugs later (I got a few extra ones), I'm one very happy little leo :)

Then, I was taken out to lunch to a quaint little French patisserie to be Marie Antoinette for an hour and just ate cake (we had a choice of bread as well, but I just wanted to eat cake :o)

On my return to the office, my lubbly little OBs got me an equally lubbly cake from Brunetti's!!
Oh my goodness, that completely blew me away, what a bunch of sweethearts they are. My proud leo head cannot get any bigger with all this attention focussed on me. Thank you so much!

After an entire day spent pigging out on sweets (and very little else), I truly believe I had cake and donuts coming out of my eyeballs so I was really looking forward to seeing my big sweetheart, who drove all the way over to take me out for dinner and we enjoyed a very scrumptious meal at a local trendy eatery and no more sweets for me.

Thank you friends for making me feel super special for one perfect day.

La La La La - I'm a little bit tipsy... gimme another glass of that pink champagne

It's 3 days and counting and it's Happy Birthday to me

I don't want to be self-centred but damnit, the older I get the more leo I become and the world does revolve around me :)

I got it but I didn't get it

Today I've been the happiest I can remember for a very long time.
First thing in the morning, I got the call that I had expected all week and it went exactly as I had expected.
I got the job, but I didn't get the job and that is perfectly ok with me.
The short version is that, basically this was almost the ideal job that I was looking for, working for a large-ish organisation, in the learning & development section, with the opportunity to become of the trainers in the future, free attendances at the training sessions, great small team, working with what seemed like really genuinely nice and fun people - BUT - they just couldn't afford me. Bugger....

Oh well, like I said to a friend, the big dude upstairs must have bigger and better plans for me.... he better damn well have better plans for me! I've been waiting an awful long time, this is the 3rd job that I've turned down in the last 6 months.

Either I'm too picky or I just don't want to leave where I am now... and truth be told, what I have now is a pretty darn good job, I just don't think that it's the right job for me. If you've been in my position, you will know that it's really difficult to leave a good job in a great organisation for something that you're unsure of or feel a little 'iffy' about.

My hopes are up, having somebody tell you that you are 'by far the best candidate' gives you that nice tingly feeling and I'm on a high! And my birthday is in a few weeks so I hope this high lasts until then :)

Stuff and Nonsense

What a weird picture.... yes it is a photo of a hand, my hand in fact, my hand with henna and here's the story: I went to a conference on the weekend and during the break there was free henna tattoo, so of course I did it. It was FREE! And I was first in line, but it took a bit longer than I expected, and the girl who was painting my hand didn't quite understand English so couldn't tell me when I was supposed to remove the henna, but it was nice to be the centre of attention ;)

Little things you don't realise, like henna will last approx. 2 weeks, the henna takes approx. 20 mins to dry, but you should leave it for a few hours for the dye to become darker.... once the henna is kind of touch dry, they put a mixture of lemon and sugar on it, not sure what that's for exactly but it made my hand sticky and itchy, and the girl left a bit of lemon segment on my hand! Don't worry, I didn't lick it :)

Umm, yeah well that's my stuff and nonsense for this week.

Depressed

I know, nobody cares when you're depressed.

But I am, and I want people to know! I am depressed!

I gots me a haircut on the weekend and the dumbass lady got it SO completely WRONG that I cried for days. Not that it was a bad haircut, it just wasn't what I wanted... and I absolutely hate it, I hate it so much you just can't fathom how terribly awful I feel right now. A bad haircut can make a girl feel so ugly. And right now that's exactly how I feel - ugly.

I kept telling the stupid woman that she was taking too much length off - I still wanted to be able to tie my hair back when I feel lazy... no no, it's not too short, you're just used to really long hair so you think it's too short, it's not too short - but guess what lady - IT IS TOO SHORT! AND I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so traumatised by this I think I'll never get another hair cut again - just like how I'm too traumatised to go back to the dentist again......

I know it's so superficial, so stupid, so shallow and so vain of me - but hell, I am a girl afterall, and on some occasions I want to feel good and a bad haircut just reminds me of how not good I feel with myself everytime I see myself in a mirror and there's nothing I can do to hide it until it all grows out in 3-4mths time and I hate it.

I can't help but feel stupid.

My Natural Highs

I'm aiming to get to at least 100.

I believe there must be at least 100 things in this world that makes me happy to be the person that I am, so here goes, somebody started this off for me - the beginning of a list of my natural highs:

1. Being in love.

2. Laughing so hard my face hurts.

3. A hot shower.

4. No queues at the supermarket, or anywhere for that matter.

5. Taking a drive down a pretty road.

6. Hearing my favourite song on the radio.

7. Lying in bed listening to the rain outside.

8. Cuddling my dog when she's just fresh out of the bath.

9. Hot Chocolate from KoKo Black... (or Brunetti's)

10. A bubble bath.

11. Giggling.

12. A good conversation.

13. Finding a $50 note in my coat from last winter.

14. Running through sprinklers (before the water restrictions of course! back in the day when I was only so high).

15. Laughing for absolutely no reason at all.

16. Having someone tell me that I'm beautiful. (*ahem ahem, hint hint*)

17. Accidentally overhearing someone say something nice about me.

18. Singing badly and really out of tune with made up lyrics to my favourite songs playing on the radio just to get a laugh out of my partner.

19. Making new friends or spending time with old ones.

20. Having someone play with my hair.

21. Sweet dreams.

22. Making eye contact with a cute stranger.

23. Holding hands with someone I care about.

24. Running into an old friend and realising that some things (good or bad) never change.

25. Watching the expression on someone's face as they open a much-desired present from me.

26. Getting out of bed every morning and being grateful for another beautiful day.

27. Knowing that somebody misses me.

28. Getting a hug from someone I care about deeply.

29. Knowing I've done the right thing, no matter what other people think.

30. Watching my dog, the most adorable, clumsiest, lovable creature in the world, who loves everybody unconditionally, just being herself and being loved and spoilt by everybody.

31. No traffic on the road.

32. Finding a spot to park immediately without having to drive around for hours.

33. Cheese.

34. Cooking and enjoying a beautiful meal with amazing friends.

35. Knowing that my friends still love me even when I do or say something stupid.

36. Doing something out of the ordinary that I've never done before (ie, sky-diving)

To be continued....

oh, one more thing

YAY! We have a new computer at home, I can re-start my blogging

sorry peeps, it's time to sit through more excrutiatingly boring drivel from my life :)

thanks for participating in my life, it is muchly appreciated

Funny thing happened yesterday

I saw Hamish Blake (of Hamish and Andy fame) on Smith Street, Collingwood... then walked smack-bang! Straight into a pole!

Yup... right into a pole, witnesses, and everything

Nope, I wasn't starstruck, I wasn't even looking at Hamish when it happened but damnit, that would've explained EVERYTHING - nope, I was just a clutz

(I just wish nobody saw it happen - so embarassing!)

Happy dreams

The other night I had a funny dream....

I dreamt that I went to Krispy Kreme (hhmmmmm donuts....) and I was so incredibly disappointed that they didn't have the donut that I wanted, you know the chocolate one with the custard inside, well I got to the counter and I asked for that one and the girl gave me the very last chocolate one with the custard inside and I was SO HAPPY!

ahh... small pleasures :)

Oh dear Comedy Festival

I forgot to write about going to see some comedy... finally I get to go out a bit and I forget to tell the world, oh deary me I am getting old :(

Well... Adam Hills, I highly recommend - funny, likeable, cute and genuinely nice. What a nice bloke. Yeah, give him a shot, he's cool.

Went out with a couple of workmates on Friday 13th... it wasn't really to celebrate Friday 13th, it was more like a 'hey, we get along great guns at work, we should see how well we get along outside of work' thing. And get along well we did.

However, for me it was kind of a bitter sweet day. If I had accepted that job offer, Friday 13th would've been my last day at work and that get together after work would've been my farewell party (even if it was only 2 other people....) and today would've been the first day in my new job. As it turns out, I didn't take the job and I still had to go to work in the same old boring job...

Last Saturday, we saw D-Cuppetry and what a load of titty crap that was! Such a waste of time, if I could have one wish, I'd wish for that 1 hour of my life back. Seriously, the biggest load of shite I'd seen in a long time. Thumbs down from me (and I'm quite easily impressed).

This coming weekend we're off to our annual pilgrimage to the Apollo Bay Music Festival. I don't plan on seeing any gigs but I do plan to wander around aimlessly for a few days and let's hope it's pleasant weather :)

The Philosophy of Beans

The 3 Vuong ladies had a fitful of laughs this morning, it felt great to have so much fun with my mum and my sister especially since we don't really do a lot together anymore....

It all started pretty innocently... mum wanted to fill Taxi's new beanbag with beans, and that's when all the comedy started.

Did you know that styrofoam beans have a life of their own? Ever tried scooping up styrofoam beans and trying to get them inside some sort of container (ie, a beanbag perhaps)?! They can go anywhere and everywhere except where you want them to go - which funnily enough, our intention had been to get them inside the beanbag, not running all down the outside of it!

Chasing styrofoam beans around our living room, creating static as we went along, and static and beans do not mix, whilst also trying not to spill anymore beans just made our task seem even more futile, yet for some reason, this futile task was uncontrollably hilarious and yet frustrating as it was, it was also quite good for de-stressing. The more we laughed, the worse the situation became, but the less stress we carried.

Well, we ended up with a full beanbag, no beans in the living room, a good belly laugh, less stress than we started with and some mother/daughter/sister bonding all happening so it was a happy outcome nevertheless.

Beans makes people happy
Beans have a life of their own
Beans do what they want to do
Beans are 'full of beans'
Beans can be frustrating, but
Beans makes me very happy

Everybody should follow the Philosophy of Beans.

Happy Easter

I said it yesterday, but I'll say it again, this blog sucks.... I'm kind of uninspired to write anything interesting.

Things that I have noticed lately:

When you lie and watch TV on your side just to see what the world would look like turned on a 90 degree angle, it makes Catriona Rowntree look really weird and ugly.

The sunset today looked amazingly beautiful as we went over the Westgate Bridge.

I really need to go out more.

I don't need any more shoes but that doesn't stop me from wanting more new shoes.

I just can't work slowly, my slowly is still faster than most incompetent people's quickly.

I'm a really bad first-aider.

After years of denial, I've finally admitted that there may be something wrong with me - perhaps it is true that a cough should not last for more than 2 weeks.

I do dress like a bum most of the time. That means, I need more new clothes! :)

I don't function very well when I'm tired and sleepy.

I really need a hair cut.

I should probably see a dentist soon.... if I can get over my fear of dentists......

I want go on another holiday, NOW!

I have too much time on my hands, I should go do something with my hands.

Happy Easter peoples, not too many of them yummy choco eggs now.

Contemplation

Hmm.... this blog sucks

My new favourite song

I've finally moved on from my other favourite song, 'Jolene' - Dolly Parton.
Just can't get enough of this song.... and of course, JT's 'What goes around' - I've been playing these 2 songs over and over a million times a day and still haven't got sick of it yet :)

Something I might regret?

I did something I might regret... or perhaps not.

Today I was offered a job, at a great organisation, a marketing company, a small firm, I could've learned a lot but I turned it down. It was the role itself, too much like what I was doing in my last job and not enough promise of opportunities for growth within that role. I just think 2 years down the track I will once again be so bored in the job that I'd be looking for something fresh again
and I'm really tired of job hunting. For once, I'd like to be able to stay with an organisation for longer than 2 years, I'd like a job that will keep me fulfilled, that I can continue to learn and gain experiences from. I don't just want another job. I have a perfectly good one, it pays me comfortably, I work with awesome people, I have lots of fun. It's just that this one no longer satisfies me.

Why can't my perfect job just fall into my lap just to make my life easier?!

Oh a different note, I have once again been bitten by an amorous mozzie. What is it with mozzies and me? Why do they love biting me? Is my blood really that much more tasty than the people around me? I'm convinced that it is in fact the same mozzie that has been biting me, and this mozzie is completely and utterly in love with me - so really, he isn't biting me, he is merely kissing me all over... he seems quite infatuated with my legs since that's where he tends to bite... only problem with this theory is that only the female mozzies bite.

Hmm.... so what that effectively means is that even in mosquito world there are gay mosquitos! How cute :)

Wednesday, March 28, 2007

OMG - am I thinking straight?!

I'm quite sure I've been offered another job at a great organisation but I have some doubts about the direction of this position and am now seriously considering turning down the offer.... in fact, I'm about 70% sure that I will turn it down. It's just too much the same as what I was doing previously and I really don't want to go back there again. Unless they're offering me a great deal of money of course! :)

Never would I have thought that I would have the chance to turn down a job offer!

I feel kind of bad for wasting their time but I'm sure that, no matter how awesomely great I am, they have always got a 2nd best option so good luck to the 2nd best option :)

I'm gonna take my time to look for the right job, not just any job.

I'm so bored!

Boredom is my life.

My life is boredom.

If life is what you make of it,

I make my life boredom.

I love my dog

I love it when I get home, whether I'm in a good mood or a foul one, Taxi will run to greet me like I'm the best thing that's happened to her all day, no wait, make that the best thing that's happened to her EVER! I love it when she showers me with attention whether I want it or not, I love how excited she gets when you give her a little treat.

I love the fact that there is somebody that will love me unconditionally just because I am me.

About bloody time!

OMG, I believe it has been close to 2 months since I last posted... well, obviously a lot has happened because I've been overseas and all, and now that I'm back in Melbourne and back at work... well, really jack-all has happened, because as usual, my life is pretty darn dreary, however -THAT- (*extra strong emphasis*) I promise (to myself more than anything) will definitely change. I refuse to live this dreary life any longer.

So, what has happened since my last post? Well firstly, my holiday was super dooper awesome fun! And that is an understatement because if my vocab and writing was any gooder, I would describe it in an even gooder way.

(*Note# read next paragraph only in one long breath using very whiny girly voice*)

Please read Buttsore & Blistered Feet, even though I realise it is kind of all over the place and doesn't really follow any kind of logic and pattern and most of the times, doesn't really make much sense and probably is rather boring to read because there is so much text and not enough piccies and also, I neglected to write much about my most favouritest place on this trip, Barcelona, even though I think I enjoyed myself the most there. Do read it simply because I spent a lot of money and many precious travelling hours in dodgy internet cafes to write it up for you wonderful readers to enjoy. Thanks dudes!

(*you may resume reading the remaining paragraphs in your normal voice... but feel free to continue using very whiny girly voice if you so wish :)

What I realised on this trip was how much fun I can have with my sister, how terribly rude Europeans can be, how inefficient Europeans insist on being, how people can be nice AND efficient at the same time, not just one or the other (*ahem* Europeans and Thais take note, you can learn a lot from the service Hong Kong airport), how beautiful Europe is, how beautiful Hong Kong is, how beautiful Thailand is, how much I don't know about Art and Architecture, how much I should learn about Art and Architecture, how much I can eat, how little I actually do eat, how much I can drink, how little I prefer to drink, how much I hate hot weather, how lucky I am, how unlucky Lulu is, how much I hate crowds, how long I can hold without going to the toilet if I have to pay for it, how much of a relief I feel when I'm free of responsibility and don't have any need to 'mother' anybody (I'm really not maternal at all), how much more I hate smoking and people who smoke around me, how Australian I feel when around asians and how asian I feel when around Australians, how beautiful elephants are, how much fun one can have on a bamboo raft, how silly I can be and how much fun I have when I am being silly, how much money I'm happy to part with (apparently a lot...) - but most of all, I realised how spoilt I really am :)

That was my trip in brief. Photos.... well.... up soon I hope, unless I see you sooner, then I'll show you in person :)

I've been back about 3 weeks, and I just cannot wait to go on another holiday, I don't want to be here, I'm not ready to be back at work, I'm still in holiday mode! I can't believe I'm already back at work :(

I've got sick in the last few days before I arrived back in Melbourne, which was kind of good.... didn't ruin my holidays but kind of bad cos I came home with a bad cough, and you know me and coughs.... coughs love me, they refuse to leave me, they linger around like a... well, like a bad disease. It's been about 4 weeks now and my cough remains, no remedy seems to work, cough medicine no work, cough lollies work only while I'm sucking on one, I tried to stop breathing once.... that no work either. I give it another 2 weeks before I try extreme measures.

Now to get my lazy arse off this comfy seat and actually -do- something useful....

39 degree scorcher

It's my last day in Melbourne and it's gonna be a hot one, I'm so glad I won't be around trying to get through another night of restless sleep in this heat. Nope, no sirree! This time tomorrow I will find my own extreme discomfort in the cosy cabins of an aeroplane - hopefully not sitting next to some fat smelly dude snoring his way to Amsterdam. If this was a fair and perfect world, please let me be seated next to a rich and sexy, somewhat intelligent Spanish somebody :)

3 hours until I leave for the airport and I'm starting to get a little nervous.... I still have an urge to unpack and repack my suitcase... I think I may have overpacked.... but when I do take things out, I then feel like I haven't packed enough... will I be warm enough in the European Winter? Have I got enough Summer clothes to last me a week in Thailand?? Is my suitcase too big? Have I got enough room in my suitcase for me to do some shopping as well?? Why am I asking myself so many questions?!?!?!? For a girl like me, I need to feel like I'll be prepared for anything and I don't feel like I am and that is what's getting me all nervous....

Well, since mum, Kent and Chris all are back at work now, I thought I won't be having my usual farewell brigade with me at the airport, it would only be dad this time round. And I was kind of sad.... normally, there'll be mum, dad, Lulu, Kent, Chris, maybe Chris' mum and aunt, perhaps my aunt and uncle and Nathan, BUT I just learnt that mum is taking the afternoon off work to see me off as well. Ahhh, good ol' mum, always there for us! :) :) :)

Come to think of it, it'll be the first time in 10 years that I've travelled anywhere on my own... I said I would never do it again because it's very lonely, but fortunately, it's only for one leg of my amazing race. I meet up with my sister after the first long and arduous 24 hour flight and together we will conquer the rest of the journey together. I pity Lulu already... she's gonna have to put up with my doofusness for an entire month with NO ESCAPE! :p

Imagine it, she's gonna be sleeping with me, eating with me, walking around with me, hearing me whinging about the cold, the hot, the accommodation. She'll have to put up with me getting us hopelessly lost (as opposed to getting lost the 'fun' way), and there's no doubt we will get lost. (Actually, it almost sounds like what normally happens back here in Melbourne).

I'll also be clinging onto her simply because she can speak a few more words in French than I can... even though I know speaking French in Rome probably won't be any more useful than speaking English in Barcelona.

And Chris, lucky guy, gets a nice little break from me - no nagging, no monitoring what he eats, no stopping him buying crap, no poking his lucky fat belly, no squeezing into my tiny little single bed each weekend, no bossy girlfriend telling him what to do..... so what is he gonna do with himself for 4 weeks? How will he survive??

Rightio, I'm gonna see if I want to unpack and repack my luggage again. Next time I write, I will be galivanting in Europe somewhere.

Ciao, Adios, Au revoir mes amis

3 days and counting!

I'm so excited!! There is only a few more days before I hop, skip and fly all the way to Lyon!

It's gonna be cold, but I'll deal with it - I think I've packed enough warm clothes... on second thought, a few more probably won't hurt....

I have been on leave for a few days already, why? I hear some people ask.... well, just because I can and because I feel better doing nothing at home than nothing at work. I haven't really been doing nothing though. I have been wildly tidying up at home, tidying up my room, my sister's room, the living room, the kitchen.... but it's not working. No matter how I try, my parents are just plain messy people! They just cannot grasp the concept of how to use shelving or cupboards or drawers. Items that have been taken out from somewhere must be left in full public view or the item automatically becomes a useless item. If it's not seen, it's not gonna be used, and if it's not gonna be used, then it's totally useless. It's a lost cause, I should just give up....

Good news is, I've finally pinned dad down to doing some more work on the renovations. Yup! You read right, it's finally moving a little bit more forward. We got some painting done and we've installed the kitchen island. Dad's starting to install the light fittings and perhaps when Lulu and I come back, he may have the tiling done too! Pity I can't be around to choose the tiles.... here's hoping that it'll be somewhat tasteful *fingers crossed*

Umm, what else have I been upto? I've watched a few movies. Rocky Balboa - shite. Babel - pretty darn good. Pursuit of Happyness - well, not sure yet, I'll tell you when I actually get it working on me laptop.

And I'm pretty much packed, I'm that excited... but knowing me, I'll probably be unpacking and re-packing it again just to be sure, to be sure.

I thought taking a few days off early I could have spent a few extra days with Chris, since he starts work on Monday so won't be able to see me off at the airport, but things don't work out the way I always want it to. I don't know why. If this was a perfect world, things should ALWAYS work out the way I want it to, but the Lord has other ideas.

No, haven't seen Chris for 2 days... he went to the cricket today, and since I find cricket as interesting as watching paint dry I didn't join him. And tomorrow morning I'll be meeting a friend for brunch, which will be nice as I haven't seen her for too many moons. So I guess I won't see my beloved until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest....

Right now, I'm just wasting time, watching tennis (Jelena Jankovic is serving for match point against Kim Clijsters, but Kimmy got back) and waiting for Veronica Mars to start - why oh why do they keep changing the time of this fantastic show?! I can't keep altering my bedtime just so I can stay up, how unreasonable of Channel 10 to expect me to do this! Once again, if this was a perfect world, my favourite TV shows will always be on at a time convenient for me to watch :)

Anyways, nuff whinging for one night. I think I should research how I'm gonna reach my hotel in Lyon from the airport now....

3 more days....

What's new pussy cat? woah woah woah

So, one week after the new year and what's new over here?

Well, I went back to work and it was just as boring as it has ever been (bad)
but I only have 2 more days to go before I go on leave (Good!)

Met up with my friend, Amanda, for lunch today (Good)
but couldn't arrange a good time so that Rosanna could come as well (bad)

My sister's camera is broke and now I have to add buying a new camera to my list before I go (bad)
but it is a great excuse for me to go shopping (Good!)

The weather has been terribly hot and dry (bad)
but the nights haven't been too bad, quite warm however I still slept well (Good)

I got 4 missed calls yesterday, all anonymous and no messages were left (bad)
my cousin Nathan took some photos of Chris sleeping using his mum's mobile phone (very funny!)

Found out that the company I used to work for has now moved premises! I don't know why I'm so surprised, but I am. Gees, I really need to get on with my life....

So what's new pussy cat? I guess, not a lot to be honest :p
