Update

Ummm... I promised an update last post, however - boring, bland, beige people that we are, absolutely bugger all has happened the last 2 weeks - it's very unusual even for me! Absolutely nothing has happened that's worth writing about. I just can't believe it... nothing even happened at work and for the first time since I started this job last year, I could not produce a report at our fortnightly committee meeting because absolutely bugger all has happened at work as well.

What do I do at work? Well, for the last 2 months.... not a great deal. It involves a lot of talking... hours of it in fact, I probably spend about 5 hours of my day talking to colleagues, 1 hour for lunch, and then the other 2 hours re-arranging my filing, and arranging various playlists on iTunes.... it's thrilling stuff. I'm getting to know some colleagues really well, and others... I don't really want to know that well.... as friends will know, I'm somewhat shy around people I don't know and my throat is always playing up so talking is not my strong point, so talking for 5 hours a day is just so not me at all. Please don't tell my employer that they are paying me way too much money for doing what I'm supposed to do let alone paying my way too much money to just sit there talking and looking pretty. I hate the job but boy do I love working there.

I'm listening to a lot of music - managed to copy all of Chris' iPod music onto my computer at work so I have over 5000 songs to sift through.... most of it not really my thing (metal and doof doof ain't really my style, know what I mean?)

Has anyone ever seen the youtube clip 'My Cubicle'?? Well, it's a parody of the awful James Blunt song 'You're Beautiful' and I tells ya what, every word of that is written about me at work. EVERY SINGLE WORD - oh, every word bar that infamous last line.... I ain't owning up to that one, not in public anyway :p If you haven't seen it, check it out, youtube, My Cubicle. It's about me - but then again, isn't the whole world always about me? :)

So, what have Chris and I been upto lately? Well, not really a lot to be honest.... I've been doing a little researching for my European SUPER trip next year, and a little research on China, cos me and me sis really want to have a look-see there. But we'll see how that goes....

Chris has been lazy as usual.

Me, I'm trying to get us to do things, but it never ends up being anything other than shopping or movies.... we're such old farts.

Umm.... he's still quite the unromantic - so lately I've found myself trying to get him jealous. I won't air it in public, if you really want to know more then just ask me, I'm happy to tell. Not really working though. Chris really is too nice and trusting to be jealous. Must try harder me thinks. Tis a challenge I will take on! Must get Chris to show signs of jealousy.

Otherwise, have just been spending lots of time with the little cousin, he's picking up new things so quickly, growing up so quickly, and so damn gorgeous right now. But still, it only reinforces my stance on never having kids of my own ever. And if you haven't already asked, then I'll ask the question on your mind now, 'what about Chris? Doesn't he want kids??'

Well, Chris knows how I feel, and I've told him (and many others) time and again, if Chris ever decides that he wants children of his own, then he can have them himself or we're in trouble. I'm really not very maternal at all, I was born without maternal instincts. The other day, Nathan was being a pain in the butt, running in and out of the study leaving the door wide open when it was freezing cold outside. I told him over and over again to close the door behind him or I'd lock him out so after getting up on numerous occasions to close the door, it annoyed me so much I came good on my threat and locked him outside. He was not a happy chappy, but I was a happy chicky and a very warm one at that :)

See, I don't feel bad at all, no maternal instincts whatsoever, completely devoid of it.

Woah, for someone who hasn't been doing a great deal, it sure as hell hasn't stopped me from writing a good-sized fill for this post.... sorry for boring you.

more updates on our boringdom next time, ciao!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is our 7th anniversary... who would've thunk that the 2 of us would last 7 years?!

Hmm... well, what did we do? Actually not a lot, and it wasn't much different to what we normally do each weekend. We're very much like an old married couple in this respect... too boring to go out anywhere exciting so we just went shopping, and treated ourselves to a very decadent but very naughty piece of chocolate brownie and a hot choccie each :)

Then I went into a card store, picked out a very mushy card or 3 for Chris and got none back from my best friend of 7 years :( So what if I didn't pay for them, and he had to put them back on the shelf after he read them, it was the thought that counted and he didn't give me one so does that mean that he doesn't think much about me anymore??

No flowers, no card, no present, very unromantic boyfriend - he doesn't even try to impress me anymore, is that something to worry about?? Perhaps......... Hmm... something to contemplate I guess...

Maybe, just maybe he'll be taking me out for dinner tonight? Nope, no chance of that unfortunately, he's sitting on his arse playing on his xbox and then, give him a few more hours, he'll probably be fast asleep and wake just before dinner is served then off he goes back to the doldrums of worklife for the coming week. What a dull existence we both lead. We need an immediate injection of fun and excitement back into our exceedingly dreary, dull and unexciting lives. Update to come soon.

I must say, this is definitely becoming more and more like my piece of blog with just sprinklings of Chris when he's around..... I'll try to get him to contribute something soon and you'll understand why it's always me that does the writing :)

Well, not much happening lately, tomorrow there's a big event at uni and I've been asked to be one of the duty first-aiders, woo hoo my first job as a first-aider! I believe I've forgotten nearly everything already so let's pray that hopefully nothing happens while I'm enjoying the Whitlams :)

Taxi is doing something amazingly funny right now, she's trying to catch moths fluttering around the glass sliding door and she's leaping and jumping so high to get at them at the top of the door. If only I had a camera.... man, that is SOOO funny to watch. It's kinda like she's trying to do the 'Oh what a feeling, Toyota!' jump hehe
